Do the fish sleep? When the fish get tired they usually look for a corner to sleep, they usually choose the corners. There are some sharks that sleep while floating in the water. When the fish sleep their metabolism slows down. In winter, they generally go to the bottom but usually get tired because they float all day and therefore sleep.

It is certain that fish sleep in different ways, either by delaying their movement or because they remain motionless or hiding. Try not to disturb them at the time of sleep, the slightest ripple of the water can disturb them. They may not sleep for many hours, but they do for energy.

Fish generally sleep when they require rest. Sometimes sleep depends on whether they are nocturnal or daytime. Fish can see when they are asleep and can instantly prepare for any risky situation. When you see that your fish are immobile or remain in the same position, then they are sleeping. It’s a good idea to turn off the lights in the fish tank, so they can have the darkness they need. They usually sleep regularly if the conditions they have are conducive so that they can be in constant motion during sleep and can take oxygen through their gills. His preferred way to sleep is to hide in the bottom of the fish tank or near rocks. The fish are likely to sleep somehow, either delaying their movement or because they remain motionless or hiding in the open. When they sleep, the slightest movement of the water can disturb them. Somehow they sleep just like we do.
