The electromagnetic waves are a type of waves which have the ability to spread without the need to use a material medium. They move through space and are also characterized by emitting flashes of light, they have radio waves so they can be seen on media such as television and telephony.
As we said, its propagation is through space, that is to say that it can be a constant vacuum of great magnitude, if we talk about speeds they can reach 3000000 kilometers per second, although it is important to say that this speed is not infinite. The propagation of this type of waves occurs through the oscillation of electric and magnetic fields.
Types of Electromagnetic Waves
Within electromagnetic waves you can find two types of fields, electric and magnetic. Other attributes of these waves are the frequency , the wavelength and the value of the same.
These waves, like others like marine ones, can have peaks and valleys. The length is determined by the distance between two similar points that are in two different cycles, at the same time, we can define the cycle as the total route that implies the arrival to the crest and its descent to the lowest level of the valley, and then go up to level zero. The frequency results from the oscillation speed within an electromagnetic field and can be measured.
