Examples of Syndrome

Syndrome is a word used in the field of medicine and psychology to refer to a picture that makes up several symptoms that can help identify a disease or a health condition of an individual. These symptoms are mostly easy to detect as they are interrelated and lead to a diagnosis.
One of the best known examples of syndromes is Down syndrome, which corresponds to a type of congenital condition that arises due to an alteration in the individual’s chromosome 21. These people are much more prone to heart disease and have certain physical features that undoubtedly indicate the presence of this medical condition.
