Definition of HTTP
HTTP is a protocol used to request and transmit files over the Internet or other computer networks, especially web pages and web page components, it is transaction-oriented and operates through a request-response scheme, between a “client” and a client. “server”. The client making the request (a browser or a spider) is known as a “user agent” (user agent, such as Internet Explorer).
HTTP is the protocol used in each Web transaction (WWW), it defines the syntax and semantics used by the software elements of the web architecture (clients, servers, proxies) to communicate. It is a stateless protocol, that is, it does not store any information about previous connections.
The server is the one where Internet pages are stored. The transmitted information is called a resource and is identified by a URL. The resources can be files, the result of executing a program, a query to a database, the automatic translation of a document, etc.
The information that follows “http” is called the URI (Uniform Resouce Identifier), better known as a URL, which is nothing more than the address that we are visiting. When we come across https addresses, our browser employs additional encryption to protect the information being transferred, especially when conducting online transactions.
